Anatel director Luiz Tito Cerasoli, who participated in the SET meeting at NAB 2002 in Las Vegas, reaffirmed the agency?s promise to complete its report on the appropriate DTV standard and business model for Brazil by July. The document will be published for consultation. Anatel also plans to retain legal consultants to help draft a proposal on commercial incentives. Anatel also took the opportunity of updating itself on trends in digital terrestrial radio at NAB. The United States is still in the process of choosing between iBiquity, the standard for AM/FM digital radio, and PRM (shortwave).
