USA, produced in Brazil as a 50-50 joint venture between Globosat and Vivendi Universal, has concluded an agreement with Neo TV guaranteeing the channel?s inclusion in all cable and MMDS distributors that belong to the association. Each distributor will now negotiate individually with USA Brazil. The first of NeoTV?s members to air the channel will be Horizon, present in 17 cities, mostly in the interior of São Paulo State and Manaus, Amazonas.
?In the coming months we will be rolling out publicity and advertising in the cities covered by Horizon to highlight the channel?s attractions for new subscribers,? says Paulo Barata, USA?s general manager for Brazil.
USA isn?t exclusive to the Net system, so much so that it?s part of DirecTV?s lineup, but the agreement with NeoTV is an important step showing progress in negotiations to enable independent distributors to carry Globosat programming.
