Net Serviços is to offer a feature-length compilation of episodes from the ?Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo? series produced by TV Globo and later launched on DVD. It will be a pay-per-view offering in several installments starting October 4. The three-program package costs 15 Brazilian Reals (now about 4.50 US Dollars) if purchased by phone and 12 BRL via the Web site. Subscribers to Net?s broadband Internet service, Vírtua, pay a promotional price of 10 BRL. Sky recently aired ?A Muralha?, another TV Globo series, aggressively promoting the PPV program by offering it free to a large proportion of its subscriber base. Net Serviços did not try to compete.
