Net Serviços faces wave of negative rumors

The falling exchange rate was good news for Net Serviços but now even this has gone into reverse, and equity analysts see nothing but gloom ahead for Brazil?s largest MSO. As if the resignation of CEO Luiz Antonio Viana and Anatel?s imposition of a penalty for tying the sale of pay-per-view programs to the Advanced subscription package weren?t enough, this week there has been a wave of rumors that Bradesco wants out. The financial services conglomerate has reportedly taken a strategic decision to dispose of all non-core investments. It?s already sold its stake in apparel maker Alpargatas, for example. On the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) Net Serviços closed on R$0.42 Wednesday, losing 2.32%, roughly in line with the index. On Nasdaq it gained slightly to close on $1.16.
