While the creation of Globo S.A. is on hold, the group can dispose of certain assets in order to proceed with financial structuring, equity analysts believe. It?s already doing this to some extent by selling the Marinho family?s investments in TV stations. Another example is the recent sale of part of Globo?s stake in Sky. However, the disposals effected to date have provided some relief but aren?t a long-term solution. Analysts concerned about the group?s ballooning dollar debt say bolder moves are needed now, possibly involving part of Net Serviços, the rest of Sky, the publishing house, a newspaper, or the printing works. The debt is increasing sharply because of the Brazilian Real?s depreciation against the US Dollar.
