Anatel commissions customer satisfaction survey

Anatel has commissioned a major customer satisfaction survey among subscribers to pay television and wireless telephony throughout Brazil. All pay-TV operators were asked in January to supply a list of subscribers? names and phone numbers. A random sample taken from this database will be contacted by two foundations that for some time have been conducting telecommunications research: Fundação Instituto de Administração (FIA), part of the University of São Paulo?s School of Economics & Management (FEA/USP); and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul?s Fundação de Apoio. Because both wireline and wireless telcos have handed over subscriber data to Anatel, pay-TV operators will probably follow suit. Most operators have already delivered the data or begun taking steps to do so. Anatel plans to complete the survey of cable, MMDS and DTH subscribers in 120 days. If all goes according to plan, in April the regulator will have scientifically accurate information on subscribers? opinions about pay television throughout Brazil.
