Net Serviços has issued an official statement to investors and regulators confirming the appointment of Francisco Tosta Valim Filho as its new CEO by the board of directors at a meeting that ended on February 6. The choice of Mr Valim was reported by PAY-TV News on January 22. ?The new chief executive?s contribution will be especially valuable to the company as it continues to redirect and strengthen operations while concluding the restructuring of its debt,? the statement said. Francisco Valim?s considerable experience in the pay-TV industry includes running Net Sul when it was a subsidiary of RBS and merged with Net Serviços, then Globo Cabo. Net Serviços paid 2,800 US Dollars per subscriber as well as assuming the debts of Net Sul. After the merger Mr Valim remained with RBS as director of business development and regional Web portals. Later he joined Telemar as its chief financial officer.
