Marco Aurélio Ferreira leaves Net Serviços

One of the longest-serving directors of Net Serviços left Latin America?s largest cable company on Friday, May 16. Marco Aurélio Ferreira, lately in charge of individual customers, worked in the group for 11 years, serving as chief operating officer (COO) of Net Serviços and managing director of Net Rio, among other positions.
He was replaced by Ciro Kawamura, ex-director of marketing with Unicabo and until recently a senior marketing executive of Claro Digital, a mobile phone company in Rio Grande do Sul, and GVT, a CLEC in Brasil Telecom?s region. Ciro Kawamura?s recruitment is part of Net?s plan to resume expansion.
Marco Aurélio Ferreira says both he and Net needed ?fresh air? after such a long association and that?s the only reason for his departure. ?The organization has immense potential and is certainly going to grow a good deal,? he adds.
Mr Ferreira was one of the people responsible for the company?s vigorous expansion in the period 1998-2000. He?s full of praise for the new managing director, Francisco Valim, and his role in the new growth-oriented strategy.
?As for my own plans, I?m studying a number of offers in other sectors but I want to continue dedicating myself to the area of permanent service provision,? he says.
Ciro Kawamura?s job title will be director of product development, marketing and communication. For roughly a month, the COO has been José Félix, who until recently was in charge of operations in the South of Brazil.
