Philippe Boutaud, managing director of DirecTV Brazil, says Horizon is guilty of criminal action in the cities where it operates by offering to buy their reception equipment as an incentive to switch from DTH to cable. DirecTV has submitted a complaint to Anatel. ?The problem is that Horizon is buying what?s not for sale. We don?t transfer property in the equipment to subscribers. Antennas are leased to customers, so they can?t be sold. Horizon is committing a serious offense. The company removes the equipment and destroys it. But the antennas belong to DirecTV,? he says.
